- Assessment and Disassembly: The process begins with the analysis of the engine’s current performance data. Our expert team, strictly adhering to OEM documentation and instruction book guidelines, carries out the careful disassembly of the units. All components, from the smallest bolt to the largest engine block part, are labeled and systematically recorded in preparation for reassembly.
- Analysis and Component Inspection: This stage is the most critical step of the overhaul. All disassembled parts are subjected to NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) procedures. Modern methods such as magnetic particle testing (MT) for surface cracks and ultrasonic testing (UT) for internal defects and wear detection are used. All bearing, shaft, piston, and liner measurements are taken using calibrated precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators). The obtained data is compared against the manufacturer’s tolerance limits to clearly determine the condition of each part.
Testing and Delivery: After honing, the liner’s final quality control is performed. The surface roughness is measured with special profilometer devices to confirm that the target Ra value has been achieved. The final inner diameter, ovality, and conicity measurements are repeated to guarantee that all geometry is within manufacturer tolerances. The liner, having successfully passed all tests, is coated with anti-corrosion oil and delivered ready for assembly.
Comprehensive Reporting: A detailed technical measurement report is prepared for each cylinder liner that has completed the honing process. This report includes all geometric measurement values taken before and after the procedure (diameter, ovality, conicity), the final surface roughness (Ra) value, and information regarding the conformity of the “cross-hatch” pattern. This report, which documents the quality of the work performed, is presented to the customer for the engine’s service records.
